About Us

SAGA Equine was founded to promote healthy relationships between humans and their equine partners. We believe that the equine-human interaction illuminates and clarifies the consequences, and rewards, of our behavior towards other sentient beings. With clarity we can work towards directing our own habits into positive results that benefit us and, in the process, the world at large.

Horses are mirrors of our intentions. They have become uniquely attuned to their environment from thousands of years of predation and are, therefore, capable of seeing things that the most astute psychologist cannot see. They are a part of the natural world, immersed and in touch. Too many of us have lost the ability to sense the energies that surround us on a daily basis. We need a partner and a willing guide to help us through the maze of conflicting desires and distractions that humans tend to fill their days with.

Horses can teach us to slow down, to be patient, to watch and nurture rather than force changes, to flow with the natural processes that nurture our growth and wellness, and to heal ourselves through introspection and understanding.

Horses can show us what situations are appropriate to fight, to run, to celebrate, to relax, to console, to endure, to love. They are symbols of the latent potential that a herd of horses, or people, have to become an effective and caring group. We at SAGA Equine wish to continue the example that our horses have shown is possible. We stand against the forces of destruction and desiccation that seem to be gaining ever deeper holds on our youth and in our society. Our dream is to change the world by living lives in tune with the natural principles that reward meaningful work, dedication to ideals, and service to others.
